I’m not really a breakfast person, actually as many of my friends and family will attest to, I’m not really a morning person. Sometimes even my coffee needs coffee.
During the school year it’s porridge every weekday morning, which I swallow like penance, and that’s not a reflection on the quality of the cooking!
When in Ballymaloe, I knew I didn’t want porridge for one each morning, so made myself kilner jars of granola, and ate it every morning with a couple of spoons of yogurt. And it worked, waking me up, making me feel good, and starting the day with a tummy that didn’t start growling again for quite some time.
Glenisk Strained Greek Yogurts
I received some vouchers to try the new range from Glenisk- Strained Greek Protein Yogurts, and exchanged them in our local supermarket. We use Glenisk yogurt and cream all the time, so it wasn’t a hardship.
They come in lots of flavours I discovered, but I limited myself to the natural, blueberry and vanilla flavours. The blueberry flavour has a rich velvety mouthfeel, with no nasty artificial aftertaste.
What also came in the pack, was a number of toppings. Made by Wyldsson, there was a little tube filled with ingredients such as almonds, hazelnuts, Persian mulberries and Belgian dark chocolate and also a pouch which included toasted cashews, pumpkin seeds, sun dried Goji berries and chia seeds. So no need for my granola. The texture was crunchy and I could feel the goodness flowing through my veins.
A perfect Breakfast
They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but I can see myself eating these all day!
Please note: as mentioned above, I was sent vouchers for these products to trial. Opinions are, as always, my own and 100% honest. Any interested Irish readers can avail of a free sample of Glenisk Strained Greek Protein Yogurt here
